If you prefer to get rid of your Christmas tree yourself, North Yorkshire County Council offer free Xmas tree recycling for Harrogate residents. There are two centres in Harrogate at Wetherby Road and Penny Pot Lane where your old tree is shredded into chippings. This product is either turned into compost or used locally in parks or woodland areas. Remember to remove all of your decorations and the base or stand!
